Our Story

Born and raised in Glen Cove, Betsy Gibbs has had careers and a life “Worth Repeating," a name later utilized in her consignment boutique. Betsy possesses an entrepreneurial mindset along with contagious enthusiasm and high energy. Betsy used these admirable traits to open her first retail venture, “The Good Lite Lady” where she applied her skills in design and repair for commercial and residential lighting. Her next venture enabled the home bound to enjoy her personal touch delivering in house manicures and pedicures.

Continuing with her entrepreneurial spirit, Betsy opened up a consignment shop (previously Eileen’s Closet) located in Sea Cliff. After the stores closing she received a NY State certificate to be an Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor and applied her knowledge to many volunteer positions, including counseling in Mercy New Hope. Not long after, Betsy found a new home that would afford her a growing business and a method for giving back to various communities and organizations.

Located in Locust Valley since 2006, Worth Repeating is a town landmark. The store is a consignment shop featuring a spectrum of clothing and accessories from Chanel to Banana Republic and every designer in between, all for affordable prices.

Betsy volunteers her time and merchandise at fashion shows for many organizations and for a multitude of different schools. In addition, Betsy makes generous donations to the less fortunate. For all her work Betsy has been awarded the Leadership Award from The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce and The Community Service Award from the Glen Cove Boys and Girls Club. She was voted by Newsday as one of the “top 10 Stores on Long Island for Boutique Consignment,” interviewed on television, and featured in a commercial and book entitled, “Fashionista’s Guide to Shopping.” Betsy is on the boards of the Glen Head Business association and The North Shore Sheltering Program.
